Is This The Best Gym In Austin? Los Campeones Tour

By Fit Local Team · Published 2026-08-05 · Updated 2026-08-05

We will not call a winner. Here is what the footage shows: a dedicated powerlifting room, a posing room, a turf area, a dumbbell room that runs up to 150 pounds, and an entire downstairs of leg equipment, all in Round Rock. Head coach Lawrence walks every room in the first six minutes, then the video becomes a filmed training session with the gym’s coaches. Judge the floor yourself.

Is Los Campeones the best gym in Austin?

We are not going to call a winner. The title is the argument half of Austin's lifting community already has, and the tour exists so you can judge the floor instead of taking anyone's word. What we will say: this location made our filmed-inside list of the best gyms in Austin, where the only rule is that we walked the floor with a camera.

Head coach Lawrence puts it plainly in the tour: "this is not what a normal gym looks like." People who have trained for years walk in and get it immediately.

Is this location in North Austin or Round Rock?

Round Rock. Lawrence calls it "the North location" on camera because that is the gym's internal name for the branch, not a city. The address is Round Rock, the location opened in December 2025, and the video description and the gym's own site both list Round Rock (checked July 2026). If you train on the north end of the corridor, start with personal trainers in Round Rock.

What is inside Los Campeones Round Rock?

The tour runs room by room for the first six minutes. Here is the map, with where each room appears in the video:

Room What the footage shows In the tour
Powerlifting room Racks and high-quality equipment in their own room, morning light from the window area 0:51
Posing room A dedicated mirrored room for physique work 1:02
Turf area Dumbbells, open turf, and two extra cable machines for training away from the crowd 1:10
Main floor Pressing equipment flows into pulling equipment, shoulder machines in the middle. Hammer Strength, Panatta, and Technogym pieces named on camera 1:53
Dumbbell room Metal dumbbells up to 150 pounds and a good amount of mirrors 3:08
Downstairs An entire floor of legs: pendulum squat, hack squat, power squat, V squat, belt squat, leg presses, a Nordic hamstring curl machine, and a row of calf machines 4:14

Lawrence's summary of the training style the floor is built for: "bodybuilding style, time under tension." No box jumps.

Who coaches in the back half of the video?

The tour is a quarter of the runtime. From 6:44 the video becomes a filmed training session at the gym. Lawrence coaches a single-arm bent-over row first: weak arm first, hips pushed back, elbow driven into the waist, and straps if the goal is your back. His line: "If you have straps, use straps."

More coaches then take over: a front squat session, a shoulder press session, and a five-stretch daily mobility routine for people who sit at a desk. We name only Lawrence on this page because the other coaches' names reach us through YouTube's auto-captions, and we do not print a person's name we have not verified. Their handles are in the video itself.

How do you train there with a coach?

Micaiah Joy, one of the trainers who works out of Los Campeones, coaches her clients on this exact floor. We filmed what a real personal training session looks like with her at Los Campeones Round Rock.
