Fogo CrossFit in South Austin: What We Saw Inside (Filmed)

It is a class-based CrossFit box on South Congress, and it has been one for a long time. CrossFit's own gym directory lists Fogo as an affiliate with 13 years of affiliation. The gym posted about moving into its current home at 4619 S. Congress in 2015.

What equipment does Fogo CrossFit have?

CJ gave us the full lap. In the order he walked it:

1. Olympic plates and a lifting area.
2. Ski ergs, air bikes and curved treadmills. His reasoning for the machines is local: "It's a little bit hot outside in the Texas heat."
3. GHDs.
4. Dumbbells and kettlebells for the "gym pump" side of the room.
5. The rig: pull-up bars, rings for muscle-ups, toes-to-bar, and pegboards.
6. Wall work: wall balls, handstand push-ups and handstand walks, then the boxes.
7. Bathrooms and showers.

That is a complete CrossFit floor, and nothing on it is exotic.

What is a class at Fogo like?

We asked CJ what someone should expect walking in. His answer: "very welcoming" and "a very diverse community." He added that "a lot of our coaches are also bilingual," so classes are open to people who speak English and other languages.
